TKO Wallsend Summer Holidays

The Wallsend club will be breaking for the summer holidays on Thursday 21st July 2011 but don't cry!!!!!!!! Sessions will start agin on Tuesday 23rd August 2011 7.30pm in the main sports hall at Hadrian Leisure Centre. Look out as well as soon as Ben gets back we'll be starting back up at the new boxing gym -Unique Fitness in Howdon a bigger  purpose built facility brought to you by the team behind Howdon Fight Factory.

 So while there's a break be sure to keep checking the facebook page and blog for updates on Ben and Kates honeymoon adventure to Thailand and a few shots of Kate training out there in her bikini top kicking some pads with a Thai trainer.

Tyneside Kickboxing Organisation Interclub Competition

TKO South Shields will be setting off the first semi - contact Interclub competition between TKO clubs on 17th July 2011 @ Temple Park, South Shields.

All competitors will need full sparring gear and up to date insurance.

NO INSURANCE = NO FIGHTING

The next interclub will be hosted by TKO Wallsend in the late autumn at a new purpose built facility in Wallsend with rings and matted area.

 Christmas Closing for Wallsend & South Shields..BACK IN THE NEW YEAR!!!!!!

Both instruction teams from Wallsend & South Shields would like to wish all our members a very merry christmas and a happy new year.

Wallsend Club will close for the christmas break with the last class of the year on Thursday 16th December 2010 but we'll be back to kick you's back in shape with training back on Tuesday 4th January 2011 and at the Fight Factory (Howdon) on the 5th January 2011.

South Shields will also close during Christmas with the last class of the year on Sunday 19th December 2010 and training will start again on Thursday 6th January 2011 to help you all digest all that turkey.

Congratulations

Well done to Ben Kennedy for completing the Level 1 Kettlebell Instructors course with our good friends at Newcastle Kettlebell Club. That is now Ben and Kate now qualified Kettlebell instructors through NKC which is defitinatley not a course for the faint hearted!!!!!!!

Result!!!!!!

Well done to Ellis Taylor of Wallsend TKO who came 2nd in his division and Adil Akhtar of TKO South Shields who came 3rd in his division at the South Tyneside Open competition last Sunday. also well done to the rest of the lads who took part, Chris (South Shields), Wayne & Phil (Washington) & Jordan (Wallsend).

A huge congratulations to Ben Kennedy, Dan Kennedy & Keith Bartley who all received their 4th Dan's at the start of the month from the CMAA.

Ben Kennedy has also joined the Register of Exercice Professionals (REPS) at level 3.

Finally a big well done to Kate Buckham (1st Dan) who passed and qualified as a Level 1 Kettlebell Instructor with the NKC.

Free Kickboxing sessions are now going ahead at the Fight Factory boxing gym, every Friday night 4.30-6.30pm for Pupils at the following schools. Churchill Community College, Burnside, St. Thomas More .

Tyneside Kickboxing Organisation (Wallsend) are pleased to announce that they have partnered up with Fight Factory Gym in Howdon and Sub21 and will be offering free kickboxing sessions over a 10 week period in the new year for students Year 7- 6th form at Churchill Community College, St. Thomas More and Burnside Business and Enterprise College. Please keep checking back on the website as dates will be added along with a page about the sub21 programme and links to their website in the very near future.

Burnside & Walker Christmas Holidays

Just to let you all know that the last training session of the year at Burnside will be Thursday 17th December 2009. We will have a 2 week break over the christmas and new year period and will be back with a vengence on Tuesday 5th January 2010.  Walker's last session is on 21st December 2009 and they return on the 11th January 2010.

We are all out for an xmas get together on the 19th December meeting at "As you like it"  at 5.30pm please feel free to join us there and enjoy the start of xmas with us!!!!!!!

Result!!!!!!

Well done to Chris Parvia (South Shields TKO) who won by an unanimous decision at the Extreme Full  Contact show last night ran by Kuei Ling & Spartan. Chris fought an excellent fight against a lad from Spartan Kickboxing and MMA. Thanks also to Keith and Matt Bartley who ran his corner. Yet another good result for Tyneside Kickboxing Organisation.

Chris Parvia from South shields will be fighting Full Contact  in the EFC show ran by Kuei Ling and Spartan next Saturday in South Shields. Please show your support and come along. Ben Kennedy will also be judging on the show (although is not on the judging panel for Chris's fight!!!).

Result!!!!!!

A massive well done to both Craig and Mick who had their first full contact fights at the Battle of the Blossom event at Alnwick gardens last night. Both lads did us proud, Mick won with a first round Knock Out and dominated the fight throughout. Craig weighed in 5kg less then the other lad and still took the fight on but unfortunetly it didn't go his way. Also a BIG thank you to Darrin Cornwall for helping Ben Kennedy in the corner was a massive help to the whole team. The video will be uploaded as soon as we get a copy.

Good luck to Craig Duffield (60kg) and Mick Graham (75kg) from the Wallsend club who are fighting at the "Battle of the Blossom" event tonight at Alnwick Gardens, Alnwick.

It's their first fight for both of them and Craig wil be fighting K1 rules and Mick will be fighting Full Contact Kickboxing rules.
